尚玄

Shogen

Shogen modeled in Paris, Milan and London while backpacking around the world after graduating from college. He returned to Japan in 2004 and started a career in acting. His debut film “Bloody Snake Under the Sun (2005)” detailed life in Okinawa during the post-war period. Shogen played the leading part as a sanshin player, and the film itself was nominated at the 20th Tokyo International Film Festival. In 2008, he discovered “method acting” in the US and it really impressed him. He flew back to New York for lessons and was trained by Susan Baston (Nicole Kidman’s private acting coach) and Roberta Wallch. Shogen features in films such as “LEQUIO” and “The Room”, which will be released later this year.
