「ショートショート フィルムフェスティバル 2005 」 スーパードライアワード受賞作品 SHIROTAKU Toshiro Sonoda/14:47/Drama/ Japan/2004 When he picks up a female passenger, an unlicensed taxi driver finds himself in a terrifying situation he never could have imagined. Toshiro Sonoda / Born in 1965, Toshiro works as a director of commercials, films, and music videos.  His short film “SHIROTAKU” swept the 2005 SSFF winning the Best Short Award in the National Category, as well as the Super Dry Award and the Governor of Tokyo Award.  The film has been highly praised in and out of Japan and screened at the New York International Independent Film Festival and the Russia Feature Shorts Film Festival.

Happiness Zennosuke Matsuura/19:54/Drama/Japan・Indonesia/2004 Ali has a problem with her mother who seems to love only her brother, Putra. One day, Ali goes to the town to run an errand with him in this Balinesian short. Zennosuke Matsuura / Born in Okayama prefecture in 1968, Zennosuke has been directing educational programs and dramas at NHK since 1992.  While he was working for the NHK Nagoya branch, his 1998 drama “JUNIOR HIGH SCHOOL DIARY- Grandfather’s Home” won the Golden Chest Grand Prix at the 23rd Bulgaria Golden Chest International TV Drama Festival.  He now works as the Senior Program Director of the Drama Division at NHK ENTERPRISES, Inc.

Sushi Japan Kenji Tanaka/6:58/Comedy /Japan/2005 The sushi western-like film is coming from Japan . This kind of sushi film must be the only one in the world. Kenji Tanaka /I was born in Osaka in 1967.  Since graduating from college, I have been working for a commercial production company mainly as a producer.  I became very interested in the short film world while producing “E man” for the Short Shorts Film Festival Expo 2005.  Since then, I have been preparing for my next film.  My goal is to be able to produce three films every year.

origami Hiroshi Okuda/11:11/Drama /Japan/2005 When he spoils his girlfriend's mood by not listening  to her story, he makes it up to her with origami. Hiroshi Okuda / While studying at the Tokyo Arts College , Okuda entered “Grandma” in the Puppet Animation Festival.  The festival helped him gain an admirable reputation as an artist and opened the doors for him to study film overseas through NYU’s Exchange Program.  Prior to graduation, he completed the film “Prisoner”, which won many awards due to his original and unique style expressing humor, solitude, and grief.  Even upon changing his style to live action, he is proving to be a talented director through his outstanding works.

Australian special screenings Tabibanashi Mack Wilson/5：30/Documentary/apan・Australia/2003 One Bike, One Boy, One Country, One Love; The story of Mack, who decides to circle Japan by bicycle.  They say, “getting there is half the fun”, but what if there is no there to get to? Mack Wilson / Mack was born in Australia , educated in Osaka , and after a series of bad-luck accidents and many operations later, to regain his strength, he thought it a “fun” idea to ride around Japan by bicycle.Mack now works for a graphic design company in Tokyo . In his spare time he also goes thrill seeking wherever adrenalin may be found.  “I am dedicating my life to the preservation of my in-sanity,” quotes Mack..

Resonance of Tears Atsuhiko Watanabe/11:00/Drama・Experimental/apan・France/2004  A man is wandering in the memory of his dead family through Tchekhov's play, “A Cherry Orchard,” which he saw just before his family's death. Atsuhiko Watanabe / Atsuhiko Watanabe is a Japanese filmmaker living in Paris (born in Tokyo in1970). Since 2000, he has created short films about dance and theater.  His first dance-video, “A”, was exhibited in Moriyu Gallery in Kyoto and in Osaka Art in Casa.  The revised version “Adagio” won a prize at the Videoforme Festival in Clermont-Ferrand , France . In 2004 he graduated from Le Fresnoy, Studio National des Arts Contemporains (France), where he made short films such as “Alienation” (Locarno Festival 2003) and “Resonance of Tears” (TV5 Tiger Cub Competition, Rotterdam Festival 2005).
