真夏日よりも熱かった! 6月17日 シダックス・カルチャーホール会場 上映プログラムレポート
2016年06月17日
A HOT & HUMID summer Friday brought beaucoup fans to hang out in this comfortable hall & to watch short films from around the world.
KAOSHIUNG FILM FESTIVAL – TAIWAN PROGRAM
For the 6th collaboration with this film festival, Programming Chief Rochella Wang came out to talk about her festival which takes place in Kaoshiung, Taiwan in October every year, & she also brought the director of “Nia’s Door,” Kek-Huat Lau, for the post-screening Q&A. He told the audience that she used a real live-in maid & nanny for the lead. She was NOT a real actress & the opening & final scenes where Nia is back at home in the Philippines with her family was actually shot in Taiwan.
INTERNATIONAL PROGRAM 8
This program, which includes the Martin Scorsese directed, $70-million, 16-minute, long-form CM for a major Macau casino again drew a huge, full house audience.
ASIA INTERNATIONAL & JAPAN PROGRAM 4
Director A.T. joined us once again (after last week’s Q&A session at Laforet) for this screening. (Please see last the “What’s New” page on our website from last Thursday, 06/09 for a write-up on the Q&A).
INTERNATIONAL PROGRAM 5
A nice full house for this program as well which includes the excellent, gritty short “Los Angeles 1991,” directed by Miguel De Olaso with whom we were treated to an outstanding Q&A last Sunday, 06/12.
ASIA INTERNATIONAL & JAPAN PROGRAM 3
For this final program of the day, director, DP, & cast of “Kamisori” (Japan), all came out for an encore Q&A following their 1st showing at Laforet last Saturday, 06/11. (Please see the report in the “What’s New” section of our website for that day)
So that’s it for today. We’ll take a break tomorrow from regular program screenings for a couple of seminars but we’re back on Sunday for a full day of screenings before we move on the Futako-Tamagawa Rise, Itscom Hall next week. Hope to see you all Sunday.
