One day, Masao’s best friend Koji visits for a haircut at his barber shop. Masao confides in him about rumors that his wife Kumiko is having an affair. When Kumiko returns, there is an awkward atmosphere between the three.

A young Iranian boy moves to London to seek asylum, but the exorbitant rent of a metropolis is difficult to afford, much less for someone in his predicament. His landlady wants him out. He promises to get that money, but soon after he starts working, everything goes wrong.

Nana searches for something to cheer her father up, and comes across a Japanese comedian, Yoshio Kojima. Of all things, she decides to perform his signature gag, “there is no meaning.” Unsurprisingly, this doesn’t make her father feel any better. Then one day, a miracle falls upon her.
