Our film talks about the momentous changes that a young girl has to face at her mother’s death.
Sadness is one difficulty among many others that she has to handle: leaving school to earn a living, learning how to survive alone in her everyday life. Teen, she is suddenly projected into adulthood. These changes provoke anxieties that add to each other until the unbearable. Failing to fight against her fears, the girl loses her mind gradually to commit an irreparable act.

審査員 / オフィシャルコンペティション 審査員 Jurors / CG Animation Competition Jurors

The Committee has selected three jurors from diverse industry backgrounds with unique points of view. Jurors will award one film: The Best Short Award from CG Animation Competition .

Kozue Akimoto- Model

Born in Tokyo in 1987. Akimoto’s trademarks are her hair, which is jet-black with straight bangs, and her cat-like eyes. Attracting much attention as an Asian beauty, she has appeared in a wide range of fashion magazines that cover everything from street style to high fashion. In 2011 she was chosen as a representative model for Hermes. She appeared on the cover of VOGUE JAPON (Conde Nast) in June 2015 alongside fashion icons such as musician Kanye West. Currently she is working as an MC for “CHINTAI TOKYO DISTRICT” (J-WAVE). Her father is former champion sumo wrestler Chiyonofuji Mitsugu, the 58th yokozuna of the sport and now the stable master of Kokonoe stables.

Keiichi Sato – Film Director

Having produced many masterpieces, Sato is a top creator who has made waves both domestically and overseas. His success spans a range of genres, including live action, anime and design. He received the Best Original Video Award from the 5th Tokyo Anime Award competition for his directorial debut “Karas”, and from this time on began working with CG. His full CG animation film “Asura” was released in 2012 and received a nomination at Annecy International Animated Film Festival, and the Excellence Award at the 19th Japan Media Arts Festival. Furthermore, his full CG animated film “Saint Seiya – Legend of Sanctuary”, which received much acclaim from overseas, incorporated state-of-the-art technology and gained attention from content creators across many disciplines. Sato’s latest work is “GANTZ-O”, a full 3D CG animation film for which we was General Director. He is on the Karasfilms Board of Directors.

Tomoyuki Sugiyama – President, Digital Hollywood University

Born in 1954, Tokyo. From 1987 Sugiyama spent three years as a visiting scholar at MIT’s Media Laboratory, and took up posts including Junior Lecturer at Nihon University before establishing Digital Hollywood in 1994. The school would go on to expand and establish both undergraduate and graduate programs, which are now administered by Digital Hollywood Corporation, an organization established under legislative reforms enacted in Japan. In 2011 Digital Hollywood University joined with the Shanghai Conservatory of Music to establish a digital media arts school in China, which is also headed by Sugiyama. Sugiyama works as a member of the Prime Minister of Japan’s Cabinet special committee that looks into issues related to strengthening the creation of new intellectual property in Japan.
