Save the Earth! Program supported by RINREI

The "Save the Earth! Competition supported by RINREI" gathers a wide variety of films that approach environmental issues and offer enlightening ideas about protecting the environment through the medium of film.

Founded in 2017, the "Cinematic Tokyo” program showcases short films introducing the various charms of Tokyo.

Non-Fiction Program supported by Yahoo Japan Corporation

A non-fiction format allows filmmakers to explore societal issues, as well as the rich and diverse lives around the world, and it is also able to convey a message directly from the filmmaker's eyes. To commemorate the 20th anniversary of SSFF & ASIA, we established the brand new "Non-fiction Competition supported by Yahoo Japan Corporation." The festival has received more than 10,000 submissions from over 130 countries. Being an Academy Awards® accredited short film festival has allowed us to present this competition, which will let the audience experience the power of visual images.

Special Programs

Aside from the Competitive programs that show works selected from those submitted to the festival, we also select short films and develop special programs that focus on a theme as well as countries of production. Included are collaborative programs curated by film festivals around the world.
