Award Ceremony
Outline
The ceremony to close the film festival.
The 2024 film festival will feature short films that illuminate “life, living and the world we live in,” with the theme “Illuminate Your Life ~ Illuminate living, illuminate the world.” The filmmakers gathered from 114 countries and regions around the world with the aim of spreading this message by shining a light on the viewers’ own lives through their creations, and by providing a place where empathy, discovery, and emotion are born, along with an opportunity to open their eyes to the world. We will screen and hold events for approximately 270 shorts selected from a total 4,936 submitted films.
At the awards ceremony, which will be the culmination of SSFF & Asia 2024, a total of five films will be selected, the most from any film festival, including three Live Action categories, a Non-fiction category, and the Animation categpry, that will lead the way to next year’s Academy Awards. We will also announce new short films and projects that will be produced by the festival.
There will also be an announcement and presentation of the George Lucas Award (Grand Prix), the film festival’s highest award.
The awards ceremony will be live-streamed around the world!
