Global Spotlight Award 2024 Finalists Announcement

SSFF & ASIA 2024 annonced the finalist of this year’s Global Spotlight Award.
This Award is given to a work that conveys the present of the world in a changing world and opens up new possibilities for a filmmaker and supports short films that unites the world.
Short film by Pedro Almodóvar and starring Eathan Hawke & Pedro Pascal, Stray Kids’ drama, Jean Luc Godar’s last one, and Oscar shortlisted short directed by Tom Stuart & starring Ben Whishaw are nominated this year.
The focus is on the diverse and original ways of expression transmitted as ‘short films’, from masters such as Godard to young film-makers.
The award winner will be announce at the SSFF & ASIA 2024 Award Ceremony on June 4th.

『Trailer of the Film That Will Never Exist: ‘Phony Wars’』
Godard’s last film, a trailer for a movie that will never exist, shows a series of collages on what appears to be photographic paper, and is about Belgian surrealist/poet Charles Plisnier, who was expelled from the Communist party in 1937.
