Shiori Ito

Born in 1989, she is a journalist and a member of the International Society of Journalists (ISJ). Video journalist, mainly producing video news and documentaries for international media outlets such as BBC, Al Jazeera, and The Economist; named one of the 100 most influential people in the world by TIME magazine in 2020.
At the international media competition New York Festivals 2018, her documentaries "Lonely Death" (CNA) and "Racing in Cocaine Valley" (Al Jazeera) won silver in two categories. Her non-fiction book about sexual violence victimization, "Black Box" (Bungei Shunju-sha), was nominated for the Honya Taisho Award in the non-fiction category. It won the Grand Prize at the 7th Free Press Association Awards and has been translated into 9 languages/regions.
