On Sat, Oct. 26, many people came to watch the screenings and events.
First one was the talk seminar by Ikko Ueda who wrote the script and lyrics of the Grand-Prix “Sen” (director : Win Morisaki / musical short film) with the prodcer Yoshiaki Iba.
The audience listened attentively to the talk about creating a script for a musical film and how sound was used on the set of a short film. Those make us want to watch the film again and again.
“Sen” is also available online for a limited time until November 7.
The seminar will be broadcast on YouTube at a later date, so please look forward to it!
The next event was a screening of the Swiss short feature “Switzerland Looking at Japan” followed by a talk event.
This event was held in commemoration of the 160th anniversary of diplomatic relations between Switzerland and Japan, and was supported by Vitality Switzerland, an initiative of the Embassy of Switzerland in Japan. The event also featured three films: “Johan, L’épreuve du feu” (directed by Romain Guélat), “THIRD WHEEL” by Kevin Haefelin, a comedy about a love triangle discovered through psychic powers in the Edo period, and “Tokyo Rain” by Michel Wild & Robert Schneider a science fiction film set in Tokyo in the near future, where heavy rains continue to fall.
The swordsmith, Johan Leutwiler, from “Johan, Dialogue of Flames,” and the director Romain Guélat then took the stage to talk about the background of the film’s production, their thoughts on Japan, and the similarities between Japan and Switzerland. Johan’s fluent Japanese and Hiroshima dialect were full of friendliness.
