2025.10.10
Special Screening in Malaysia was held on October 16.
The 16th program had 5 short films: “Dandelions Girl”, “Solstice”, “UPSIDE-DOWN GENIUS”, “Naked Lights” and “Abu Judi”.

Around 90 students (primarily from media and film studies) from USAS participated. The popular film among them was said to be “Solstice.”
Mr. Yasuhiko Tanaka, who organizes this event in Malaysia, is a script‐analysis expert who has been involved in numerous feature films.
At this year’s event he also conducted an analysis/training session on “Abu Judi.”
Given the current situation in which Malaysian films are still under-represented among the nominees, Mr. Tanaka — who lives and works in Malaysia — commented:
“I hope that short-film production in Malaysia will become more active, and that the number of submissions and nominations will increase.”
