SSFF & ASIA in Malaysia

The 8th edition of the Short Shorts Film Festival & Asia will be held in Menara Star, Petaling Jaya on Saturday, March 17. Organised by 42nd Pictures, SSFFA will screen 14 short films shortlisted last year for SSFF, the mother festival in Japan.

Among the films are three Malaysian shorts – Brave, Bus Stop and RM10 – and My Ba’s Radio, the winner of the Panasonic Digital Short Film Competition 2016 (PDSFC). The others are from Japan, Russia, France, Ireland, Czech Republic, Myanmar, the Republic of Congo and the UK.

The afternoon session starts at 1pm, followed by a moderated Q&A with the four Malaysian filmmakers – Tusilya, Abhilash, Emir Ezwan, and PDSFC winner Victor Chen Yee Fei, a crisis relief worker who was previously cast in the Hypp TV show I Want To Be A Filmmaker.

The SSFF&ASIA on Saturday is open to the public and free of charge. Registration starts at 9:30am.
