Director Yusuke Fujii’s “Tsumi to basu” will screen at ndjc!
ndjc is a project that supports the development of up-and-coming filmmakers. It was launched in 2006 by the Agency for Cultural Affairs in order to promote Japanese film and is commissioned by VIPO (Visual Industry Promotion Organization). Once again, in 2015 four filmmakers were selected from among participants in the project and supported in the completion of their short film productions. Director Yusuke Fujii, one of the directors that SSFF & ASIA has been keenly following, was one of the chosen four. The Tokyo screenings of these short films have now been announced.
“Tsumi to basu” (Sin and Bus)
Director: Yusuku Fujii
Story:
Goro Toyoda is a free soul that works as a second-hand car dealer. His younger brother Yoshio, who has been kicked out by his wife, turns up on his door step. One day, Goro encounters Chihiro, a high school girl who has been suspended from school, and her mother, Naomi. Naomi asks him to help search for Suzuki, the missing boyfriend, so Goro and Yoshio pay a visit to Kawasaki, the boss of the chop shop where Suzuki used to work. But life is not quite that simple. This is a somewhat heartrending story about those who take on the challenge of living life positively.
