Academy AwardsⓇ Accredited International Short Film Festival Short Shorts Film Festival & Asia 2016 Call for Entries opens on August 1 (Sat)
Short Shorts Film Festival & Asia (SSFF & ASIA), the first Academy Awards® accredited film festival in Japan and one of Asia’s largest international short film festivals, will begin accepting submissions for its 2016 edition on August 1, 2015 (Sat).
The Call for Entries spans multiple competitions: Official Competition (International, Asia International, Japan), and the Music Video Competition, which presents uniquely cinematic MVs. One Best Short Award is awarded for each of the three categories in the Official Competition, and the Grand Prix is chosen from among these Best Short Award winners. The film that wins the Grand Prix will be eligible for nomination for the annual Academy Awards® the following year.
Over 5,000 works from more than 100 different countries and regions were submitted for consideration for the 2015 edition of the festival. This festival is, and will continue to be, a gateway for filmmakers of the future.

① Official Competition
The Official Competition consists of three categories: International, Asia International, Japan. A Best Short Award is awarded for each category and the Grand Prix is chosen from among the three Best Short Award winners. The Grand Prix winning short film will be eligible for nomination for the annual Academy Awards® the following year.
