[Report] Yoshiaki Sajima, director of “It cannot move.” participates in LA Eiga Fest!
We received a comment from Yoshiaki Sajima, director of “It cannot move.”, who
participated in LA Eiga Fest, held over three days from September 35, 2015!
“Today was the opening day, and I was nervous about walking the red carpet. It was also
my first time doing interviews with overseas reporters, so I was worried about whether or
not I managed to answer their questions well.
This said, it was a great experience. The audience responses and reactions to screenings are very different to those held in Japan, and with a comedy film like mine it is really easy to notice.
More than anything I was happy that audiences got the jokes, and then pointed how
ridiculous they were after going along with them in the Q&A session following the screening
– this was a discovery for me. This was true for all the films, but there was explosive
applause after each was screened, and then numerous hands were raised in the Q&A. I’m
really glad I could make it to Los Angeles.”
“Kerama Blue” was screening as part of the same film festival, and was winner of the
Golden Zipangu Award. Director Tsukasa Kishimoto also participated in the event,
commenting, “I am so grateful for this award, and I am so happy that those attending could
sense the wonder of Okinawa. Please be sure to visit as Okinawa really is a great place.”
when he received the award.
