(CINEMA MUSEUM) Recommended Program! Hollywood Star Short Film Program
Short Shorts Film Festival & Asia holds a tie-up event with Tokyo International Film Festival each fall, with the aim of spreading the word about short film and supporting up-and-coming filmmakers. This year we will screen 6 programs, including the SSFF & ASIA 2015 Grand Prix winner and a selection of short films on the theme of art. In addition, there will be a workshop for creators and other events to look forward to.
Staff will be introducing recommended events and screenings in the run up to the festival ♪
This time it is the Hollywood Star Short Film Program
A lineup of A-list films that are hard to come by, including works starring the likes of Kevin Spacey (“American Beauty”) and Jamie Dornan (“Fifty Shades of Grey”), as well as a short film directed by Gael Garcia Bernal (“Babel”).
The Ventriloquist
Synopsis:Frank is a ventriloquist who has been at the same corner for the past 3 years. His puppet, Mr. Higgins, basically is Frank’s more outgoing, more fierce personality. Frank does have a crush on Stephanie, his coffee provider, but it turns out that she doesn’t like him back.
Nice To Meet You
Synopsis:‘Nice to Meet You’ is a short film about deception and lust between a mother, her daughter and a run-away criminal. What happens to reason when that mother/daughter relationship is under strain? When two generations of one family fall in lust with the same man and that man is violent criminal on the run? Does that reason give way to temptation or does good sense prevail?
