The 88th<\/sup> Academy Awards nominations were announced worldwide via a live stream on youtube last night (Fri. 15th <\/sup>Japan time)!<\/span><\/p>\n

In terms of feature film, we are interested to see that Jennifer Lawrence, a regular at the Oscars, and Saoirse Ronan, star of \u201cLovely Bones\u201d (2009), have both been nominated for the Actress in a Leading Role category. Meanwhile, Leonardo DiCaprio has secured a nomination for Actor in a Leading Role, and audiences around the world are waiting with bated breath to find out if he will receive this highly coveted award. It seems that his film, “The Revenant”, is currently leading the competition, having received 12 nominations.<\/p>\n

So, how about the short film categories?
\n\u201cWE CAN’T LIVE WITHOUT COSMOS\u201d has been nominated for the animated short film category. The director Konstantin Bronzit\u2019s previous work, \u201cThe God\u201d, has been screened at Brillia Short Shorts Theater here in Japan.<\/p>\n
