\u201cNice To Meet You\u201d is one of the films in the Hollywood Short Film Program showing as part of the \u201cCinema Museum\u201d special fall screenings hosted by Asia\u2019s largest and only Academy Awards\u00ae qualifying international short film festival.<\/p>\n

\u201cNice To Meet You\u201d stars Jamie Dornan of \u201cFifty Shades of Grey.\u201d While Dornan played a character with very particular tendencies in \u201cFifty Shades of Grey,” in \u201cNice To Meet You\u201d he appears as a young man who seduces a mother and daughter. Though the film was made six years ago Dornan\u2019s charm is clearly evident. We interviewed the film\u2019s director Will Garthwaite, asking him about the highlights of this film and the casting of Jamie Dornan.<\/p>\n

-What are the highlights of your film?<\/p>\n

This was the first film I ever made so I was very happy to have been able to work with such great professionals in all areas of production at such an early stage.<\/p>\n

I also enjoyed working with Jamie who has a real good sense of who he is and how he looks on screen. For me it was a great and invaluable learn gin experience as a first time director\u2026<\/p>\n

– Why did you cast Jamie Dornan in this role? (How did you meet him?)<\/p>\n

Because Trudie Styler was involved we were lucky to have a stream of top talent come and audition for the part (including Kit Harrington from Game of Thrones). Jamie was cast because he was the most likely of all the actors we auditioned to be a convincing sexual attraction and danger to the characters played by Trudie Styler and Mickey Sumner. Its a hard balancing act to find an actor who would reasonably appeal to both mother and daughter.<\/p>\n

– Any particular message for Japanese audiences?<\/p>\n

I am honoured to have the film play in a part of the world I am fascinated by and would dearly love to visit one day. I hope you enjoy watching Jamie in one of his very first film roles, and also Mickey Sumner, who would later do so well in Frances Ha.<\/p>\n
