The third day of SSFF & ASIA Osaka 2015 starts with “Future Film Day in Taiwan” Program. The founder of the festival, Wei-lun Lin, who himself directs as well as produces and coordinates films, founded the festival with the aim of introducing Taiwanese short films to the world. Same as Japan, the number of audience going to movie theaters has been decreasing, therefore the festival screens films not only in theaters but also outdoor locations.\u3000He also sends cheers to filmmakers who hesitate to submit their films to the international film festivals – \u201cTaiwanese short films have been received awards at film festivals around the globe, so I also want them to challenge.\u201d<\/p>\n

French Film Festival Program screens one of the must-see films this year, “Savage Night” starring Shinobu Terashima. Milkman Saito, a movie critic, praises the animation \u201cSous tes Doigts\u201d saying \u201calthough it is without dialog, the film is easy to understand, stylish and describes French history well.<\/p>\n

“Focus on UK” program shows seven British films including “British Portfolio”, starred by many British actors and actresses representing the UK, such as Eddie Redmayne, an Academy Awards\u00ae winner this year, and Benedict Cumberbatch. This program will also be screened on September 23 (Wed).<\/p>\n

The special guest for \u201cFocus on UK\u201d and \u201cMaestro & celebrity\u201d program, Yasuhiro Takeda from GAINAX Co., LTD introduces the attractiveness of short film and his way of enjoying movies.<\/p>\n
