To promote cultural exchange and collaboration between Japan and other fellow Asian countries, the Japan Foundation Asia Center was established in April 2014.<\/p>\n<p>With the Asia Center, the film festival has begun a new screening and symposium program featuring 11 countries in Southeast Asia. This partnership will continue into 2016. This year screened films from six countries, Cambodia, Indonesia, Laos, Singapore, Timor-Leste, and the Philippines in the Southeast Asia Program.
