“Kodansha Cinema Creators’ Lab” is a visual creator support project that started accepting submissions in August 2023. For the 2nd annual CCL, we received 1,126 pitch submissions, more than for our inaugural year, (Japan: 885/Foreign: 241) from Japan and abroad during the four-month submission period ending November 30th.
The Kodansha Cinema Creators’ Lab began its selection process (details below) and proceeded with selections
based on the submitted documents.
Total number of submissions: 1,126 pitches
Number of pitches that passed document screening (first stage): 104 pitches
Number of pitches that passed document screening (second stage): 79 projects
Number of pitches that passed document screening (final): 29 pitches (Japan: 25/Foreign: 4)
As a result of the selection process, 29 pitches passed the final document screening.
