I am very glad that from such a large number of different films the film "Eyes" was chosen and awarded, for me it is very important. Thank you for the award and participation in the festival! For me, this is confirmation that I am on the right track.
Juror's comment
A film with excellent visuals and production, and a perfection as a short film. The theme of uncertainties and loneliness was skillfully expressed by one-shot, and the use of smartphones was excellent.
- Anything you would like to share about your film?
This film is one of the first educational works in film school. when the master gave the task to shoot the story in one frame and use at least two characters, I went crazy. And for a long time I did not understand what I would shoot. then I had a dream, they told me there “read Slapovsky”, I started reading his stories and came across a story where, after they buried a person, they began to remember his life and realized that they didn’t know him at all, I really liked this idea, it's about everyone us, we rush, hurry, run, not knowing what color the eyes of our loved ones are literally, and I wrote the script overnight. many people after watching the film say “I'm ashamed, I don't know either, but now I'll watch and remember. thanks for the movie, for the meaning. I really want the movie to be meaningful. I would love to make that kind of movie. with meaning.
- Any filmmakers or films that have inspired your work?
I deliberately don't get inspired specifically for my films. I think this is wrong. then it won't be my movie. I don't watch or copy. and I love different directors, it's hard to single out one. I like directors who unobtrusively make you think about the simplest and most important things, about the essence of a person and his inner world. to want to become a little better than you are today. about weakness and strength, about love, about duty, about the homeland. I am close to the work of Tarkovsky, Danelia, Spielberg, Stone, Scorsese, Lynch. it's gods!
