The creators’ direct path to the theme and the writer’s effort for immediacy with the audience was incredible. Overall, the films had a simple story-telling style without being over-whelmed by technical aspects and a very high standard of quality.

A very important aspect of short films is what to say in a short amount of time. A good comparison is the traditional Japanese “rakugo,” where an effective short story has to be told. This was chosen because there was a thrilling ending as well as making the audience laugh, cry, and reflect.
