秋の短編映画収穫祭2日目 アンダーズ上映レポート！

On the 2nd day at Andaz Tokyo, many guests came to attend the screening of two programs. Most of the guests are office workers from the neiborhood
or the Toranonom Hills in which Andaz Tokyo resides. The 1st program was “2016 Award Winning Program 3” including the best CG animation short,
“Cold Coffee” from France.
The program started with “Sociopaths,” a film made with partially with CG animation. The film seems to warm us about our social behavior, by depicting robots who don’t care the existence of others.
After the screening, the festival director, Seigo Tono and festival producer Taichi Nara came up in front of the audience to talk about the short films. Tono said, “In this program, we had many films with mature contents, and the stories were quite dark, which is actually the trend of short films we are receiving.” Tono explained that as many societies around the world creates problems like the disparity between the poor and the rich, young filmmakers of today tend to pick up themes, for example, of young people’s fear towards the future which results in family relationship problems or dark crime stories.”
The “free” screening of short films at Andaz Tokyo are going on until tomorrowthe 19th, so those who haven’t been to Andaz Tokyo, it is a must!
Additional information: Short Shorts Film Festival & Asia Cinema Carnival Autumn has been taking place at Andaz Tokyo in Minato Ward from Oct. 17 to 19, and at Tokyo Photographic Art Musem in Meguro Ward from Oct. 20 to 23.
