A program that screens short films from every corner of the world, with the exception of Asia and Japan.
International Program
A program that presents short films from throughout Asia including Japan.
Asia International & Japan Program
The CG program, which began screening in 2011, offers the audience a chance to enjoy computer generated animation shorts. These top quality films are fun for adults as well as children.
CG Animation Program
To support promising filmmakers, we are calling for submissions of short films of 5 minutes or less made by local Japanese creators aged 25 and below.
U-25 Project
"Being an Academy Awards® accredited short film festival has allowed us to present this competition, which will let the audience experience the power of visual images.
Non-Fiction Program
Founded in 2017, the "Cinematic Tokyo” program showcases short films introducing the various charms of Tokyo.　
Cinematic Tokyo Program
Shibuya City has established a basic concept which highlights its future.
Shibuya Diversity Program
Wars and other situations of violence ruin many people’s lives all over the world, even at this moment.
War and the Power to Live Program supported by Red Cross
This program is here to encourage all female filmmakers, showing the strong will and unique perspectives of women.
Ladies for Cinema Project
Presenting films themed on sports such as tennis, swimming, and marathon. The power of sports can help individuals grow, bring world peace, and change society
Sports Program
A competition for movies that are produced with the goal of communicating with customers, as well as promoting the brands of companies and organizations, otherwise known as branded movies.
BRANDED SHORTS
Many Project, program, the website also features sports specials, very short specials of less than 5 minutes, kids programs for parents and children to enjoy.

SSFF & ASIA 2020 Outline

Let’s turn transition into power. Due to the COVID-19 global pandemic, our society is facing major changes. We believe not all of these changes are bad, and some are good changes that open the pathways to new communication and expressions.

For example, online communication has taught us of the possibilities of cross-border communication, and videos uploaded on video distribution websites have eliminated the boundaries between professionals and amateurs, creating opportunities for upheavals.
