Isamu Hirabayashi
After working as a graphic designer, Hirabayashi became a commercial director and started making short films alongside his work. His short films have received international acclaim and have been screened at the Cannes Directors' Fortnight, Berlin International Film Festival, Venice International Film Festival, Locarno International Film Festival, and Sundance Film Festival. As of 2019, he has made 20 short films, including live-action dramas, animations, and experimental films. 2018 saw the completion of his first feature film, Shell and Joint.
