Among the colourful and crumbling Baroque facades of Havana’s old town, a group of young boys bet cigar cards
on which of them can race to the street corner the quickest. One of them is Yusef Fernandez Perez. And for him, running would become the defining narrative of his life.
Mu Taek (M, 36) is a boxer who defected from North Korea, who makes a living as a boxing coach while searching for his long-lost wife Geum Hwa (F, 31). One day, Ha Bok (M, 50), the gym chief offers Mu Taek a sparring match against Gi Hyeon (M, 28) with payment involved.
This isn't an action sports film, it's not even a surf film; it's a human story set amongst the most powerful waves known to man. And a tribute to Praia do Norte. One of the most beautiful and dangerous beaches in the world, where feats once thought impossible, have been achieved by the brave.
