Enjoy these films, which have never been screened before in Japan. ★ National Short Shorts (Japan) Short films are a thriving genre in Japan, with new blood continuously injected into an ever-growing pool of talent. The festival continues to present the “Super Dry Award” to support the talent and the passion of young Japanese filmmakers. We are proud to present a new film by Hiroyuki Nakano (last year's “Super Dry Award” winner) titled “THE SECRET SHOW,” which Hiroyuki funded with the scholarship awarded to him in 2004. The film stars Jun Kaname, and it also will be screened at SSFF in Laforet ★ Special Screenings: Japan Premiere of a short by Johnnie To and Vietnam Short Shorts We are screening the Japan Premiere of “THE OPEN ROAD,” directed by Hong Kong director Johnnie To as the Special Screening. We are also presenting a special screening of shorts by the new generation of Vietnamese filmmakers, as we mark the 30th anniversary of the end of the Vietnam War. To commemorate “Japan-Korea Friendship Year 2005,” we present the hottest Korean music clips, MCed by the Korea-Japan Music Coordinator Masanori Furuya. All clips were shot in Japan since January 2005. Check out the new Korean music stars! We’ll announce the details of the program on the Special Program.
