Daishi Kato’s “camouflage” has been selected for International Children’s Film Festival India! Two SSFF & ASIA animations will also be screened!
The 19th International Children’s Film Festival India (ICFFI) will be held from November 14 (Sat) to November 20 (Fri) in Hyderabad, India. ICFFI is organized by Children’s Film Society India (CFSI) – an autonomous body under the Ministry of Information and Broadcasting, Government of India – in collaboration with Government of Telangana. It screens feature films and shorts, both live action and animation.
Daishi Kato’s “camouflage”, which was screened in the SSFF & ASIA 2015 Japan competition and won Best Narrative Short at Guam International Film Festival in September, has been selected to screen in competition at ICFFI this year. The director will travel to Hyderabad to attend the screenings. Atsushi Mishima’s “Achiraka World” and Shunsuke Saito’s “Small Garden” will also be screened in the non-competitive “Children’s World” program.

Because of his stutter, Satoru is the constant victim of bullying. His classmate Eri is sympathetic, but turns a blind eye in order to fit in with her friends. As the teasing gets worse, Eri decides to make a house call, but her visit to Satoru’s doesn’t turn out as planned…

The scientist who works at a robot laboratory is an utterly incorrigible slob. His workspace is a mountain of clutter and trash. One day he falls in love at first sight with a woman who comes to his lab. To win her over he builds a cleaning robot to spruce up the place. But things don’t go as planned…
“Small Garden” (2014 / directed by Shunsuke Saito)
Psychadelic skies, strange plants and mysterious creatures. Our hero wakes up in this magical world, gently becoming integrated into it. The deeper he travels, the more he begins to understand the underlying purpose and he must decide if he should stay or return.
