Director recommended by SSFF & ASIA has been chosen to participate in “ndjc: Young Film Creators Development Project”!
Yusuke Fujii, a filmmaker endorsed by SSFF & ASIA, has been selected to participate in the Agency for Cultural Affairs’ hands-on training event “ndjc: Young Film Creators Development Project.” Of the 76 individuals nominated for this summer workshop by various film organizations throughout the country, four creators have been selected to participate.
Director Yusuke Fujii screened his film “Verge of Explosion” in our 2014 edition of SSFF & ASIA, where the lead actor Tetsuya Shirai received the Japan Competition Best Actor Award.

Born in 1980 in Kyoto. After graduating from Osaka University of Arts, Yusuke began his filmmaking career working on feature films. He now works as a commercial film director. His independent film productions include “COIN LAUNDRY” (2013) and “Verge of Explosion” (2014), these films having screened at numerous festivals such as Short Shorts Film Festival & Asia, Fukuoka Independent Film Festival, Asiana International Short Film Festival, Japan Film Festival and other international and domestic events.
