【Press Release】Co-produced by VICE PLUS: With a motif in reference to “Arrival of a Train at La Ciotat (L’Arrivée d’un train à la Ciotat),” Short Shorts Film Festival & Asia releases the concept movie for SSFF2017, contrasting the past and present of the audio visual experience.
We, SSFF & ASIA in collaboration with VICE PLUS, have released the concept movie based on this year’s theme “cinemaTIC! cinema TEC!” on our YouTube channel today.
Cinema culture blossomed in the 20th century and has been evolving through technological innovations. With these advancements, the cinematic experience in movies continues to attract us to this day, but is now executed in a minimal and surrealistic way.
About the concept movie
About 120 years has passed since the screening of the first video in history “Arrival of a Train at La Ciotat (L’Arrivée d’un train à la Ciotat),” which overwhelmed the public at the time due its dynamism. Now, we have the same situation with VR technology. Regardless of the era, films have always moved us. Focusing on the “experience” aspect of movie history, this project gives a conventional perspective as well as a VR point of view. In the end, two worlds cross, creating another parallel universe; juxtaposing classic and modern cinema.
