[REPORT] SSFF & ASIA 2018 Autumn Screening (Oct.6)
The second day of SSFF & ASIA 2018 Autumn Screening started off with Anniversary Program in Autumn 1, screening 6 films selected from the last 20 years at SSFF & ASIA. The program includes “78”, a short film which was screened in the festival’s very first edition back in 1999. As it was one of the most memorable short film for the MC, many audiences also chose this film as their favorite in the festival survey.
The program would also be the Japan premiere screening for “Family Happiness” starring Ben Wishaw from the 007 series and Paddington 2.
The audiences’ reaction mirrored their excitement in this program! After the first day, the twitter feed was filled with tweets and retweets with comments on “Family Happiness,” and the audience made a huge line this morning as well.
As a starting day of the three-day weekend, many of the audiences watched each program continuously throughout the day. We were able to find familiar faces as well; some of our volunteer members from the festival in June visited us to watch the films as an audience this time!
The audience also enjoyed Award Winning Shorts Program 2 including “Tweet Tweet”, the winner of the Best Short Award in the CG Animation Competition. As a debut film by director Zhanna Bekmambetova, the music was recorded by live orchestra throughout the film.
SSFF & ASIA 2018 Autumn Screening will be held until October 8th (Mon) here in Tokyo Photographic Art Museum, and from October 9th (Tues) to 12th (Fri) at Andaz Tokyo Andaz Studio!
