[REPORT] The second day of the SSFF & ASIA 2018 in Yokohama is already sold out for some screenin
We have begun the second day of the SSFF & ASIA in YOKOHAMA with this beautiful sunny Saturday morning! At the same time the “Monet’s Legacy” exhibit is happening at the Yokohama Museum of Art and a huge line has formed as everyone waits for the opening! It looks like we have a lot of guests at the film festival who are also visiting the Monet exhibit. How wonderful to spend the weekend in this Museum.
Our first showing was a “KIDS program” that could be enjoyed by all members of the family. The various animated worlds focused on narratives driven without much dialogue were truly a treat for even adults. We had great attendance throughout the entire day.
Our second program, “Award Winning Shorts Program 3”, was also a pleasure to watch with a selection of award winners from each category of the June film festival. The attention is the many award-winning films from the “Student Film Competition supported by FELLOWS”, “Non Fiction Competition supported by Yahoo Japan Corporation”, new this year. Comedy films are met with laughter while war films capture the undivided attention of our audiences. We hope that everyone was able to get their fill of short films with the various genres.
The continuing Award Winning Shorts Program 2 was sold out and enjoyed an almost entirely full house. This Program is included a showing of Japan Competition Audience Award recipient “Novela PICARESCA” and an accompanying visit from Director Kenji Kurata. After all screening had ended, Director Kurata took questions.
We have one day left of the SSFF & ASIA in YOKOHAMA! Tomorrow we will welcome Win Morisaki and festival representative Tetsuya Bessho will host a special talk show with a focus on dance. Please look forward to it!
