image image Have you folks ever heard of the AFI…also called the American Film Institute?
It's one of the most famous film schools in the United States, located in Los Angeles, California. This is truly a mecca for young film makers, and the school is one of many well known film schools in L.A. Another famous one for actors like myself is the Lee Strasberg Theater Institute in Santa Monica. Many of the film makers who were involved in large feature productions like Titanic got their starts at the AFI.
For many who want to study film, this is the most difficult school to enter. From the competitive screening of prospective students come a very narrow but extremely creative select few students from all over the world.
And the wonderful talent at the AFI gives us a wonderful present. Each of the six digital media fellows at the AFI created an original title spot for American Short Shorts, that will play at the beginning of each screening.

                                       by Tetsuya Bessho

Be sure to check out the spots on our website here using Microsoft's Windows Media Player.
