Today, “Promoting tourism in Japan and Korean through films” was held at Brillia SHORT SHORTS Theatre.
Dir. Sagan Yi(?), Dir. Hye-sum Ku, Dir.Seuk-hwan Kim, Dir. Souk Fan-Kim(?), Ken Ochiai, and Dir. Naoko Tajima joined today’s program.
Young creators from Korea and Japan discussed passionately on the possibility to feature the Japanese tourist spots and make them visual entertainment. At the symposium, Dir.Joe yen Kim(?) and Dir. Souk Fan-Kim who visited Hokkaido with their camera, and Dir. Sagan-Yi(?) and Dir Hye-sum Ku who visited surrounding of Tokyo with their camera, presented the impression of people there and what appealed to them with pictures. Also, “Frog in the wall” directed by Ken Ochiai was screened. Many ideas were exchanged through watching the images from all over Japan. The most interesting remark came from Korean directors who found most of Japanese people seem sad and ghost town like Bisho (?) seemed more attractive. It was a great opportunity to see Japan from different point of view and realize the beautiful scenery too close to be noticed and also what needs to be improved.
The theatre was filled with those who involved in film making and tourism industry. We can see how much people got interested in this topic! We hope this communication will make Japan more attractive tourist country and bring Japan and Korea closer in mutual understanding.
