Andreas Focks of the Swedish Film Institute
Andreas Tibblin - "Good Advice"
He's definitely enjoying Japan!
The special Swedish Program has everything good about a short film festival- variety. Short films with that wonderful Swedish sense of humor, vintage, or what would be NOW considered vintage, music clips by ABBA, and a rare documentary created by Ingmar Bergman. For the Q&A Andreas Tibblin, who brought "Good Advice" told the audience that he had originally wanted another boy as the lead but the child's mother would not allow it fearing the boy might develop a complex about obesity (don't worry, that's all I'll say about the story). His short has the kind of final punch line or pay-off that Japanese audiences really like.
Our second special guest was Andreas Focks of the Swedish Film Institute, who seemed to be thoroughly enjoying Japan, told us he was thrilled when asked to represent the Swedish film industry.
