wonderful & charming short!
Once again to my favorite program of the fest. This time we had Nick Emilani, the producer of "The Bake Shop Ghost," who was in attendance participate in the Q&A session. He told us a wonderful story of how director Lorette Bayle managed to get Marianne Jean-Baptiste (Mike Leigh's "Truth & Lies") cast in the short. it just happened that the substitute doctor looking after her injured knee was Marianne's husband and they got to talking about the script... Filmmakers! If you're reading this, you never know who you might unexpectedly meet in whatever situation that could lead to a "name" appearing in your film! I've heard this many times before from filmmakers, always keep your eyes & ears open for that lucky opportunity to slap in you in the face.
