Now that most of the invitees have arrived from around the world, the SSFF held it's yearly welcome dinner & party @ the Oakwood in Roppongi. As you would expect of ANY party involving artists of any genre, things were loose, the energy level was on the verge of going into the red, and the fine food, a great part of which was provided by the Embassy of Sweden.
Without trying to be mean or cause bodily harm, we waited until the open bar had a couple of hours to let the drinks flow before we had each of the guest filmmakers belly up to the mic & introduce themselves starting without our guest of honor, Roberta Munroe, a veteran programmer & screener of film festivals and one of our esteemed jury members. In most cases we quickly discovered why these fine folks became directors & producers instead of performers! (Naw, they were really just fine)
