OK, all the way in the back there.
So, here we are, Friday, June 12th, getting into the final days of the festival. As with anything, when it starts, we feel like, oh boy!, what have we gotten ourselves into? But with everyone's exceptional hard work and the love from the short film fans who attend, before we know it, we've come near the end.
For our 1st program of the day, Brazilian director Cassio Pereira dos Santos took part in the Q&A for his short "The Scarecrow Girl." The leads are a young girl & boy who play siblings and of course, they were non-pro's who pulled it off quite nicely thanks mostly to the light-handed touch of Cassio. A delightful story of a young girl's desire for an education in rural Brazil. Nice.
