The British invasion of Hollywood is upon us! Fashioned like a World War II-era newsreel, complete with barking narrator and vintage footage, this is a film in three parts. See the Brits preparing for war, going off to America to infiltrate the film industry, and, finally, assuring victory. This is the first time that Vanity Fair has created a short film specially for the Hollywood Portfolio.

'The Secret World of Foley' takes us on a journey into the little known world of Foley Artists, who bring films to life by adding sound effects in post-production. We follow a multi-award winning two person team of Foley Artists and watch as they work together to bring to life a film about one morning in the life of a fishing village on the English coast. With their perfectly timed and precisely judged sound effects they transform the film as they interpret every sound detail, using props from their vast props store. This film shines a light on a little known film art form and is a testament to the magic and wonder of Cinema itself.

Anna (Jodie Whittaker) lives in her Mum’s garden shed making videos with her thumbs. Her Mum wants her to come out – but Anna doesn’t want to.

Nasreen is an immigrant office cleaner who dreams of being an action movie star. One day she decides to make her dreams real. Changing her accent and her whole look, she creates characters and sets out imagining the real world is a film set.
