Huang Hsin-Yao is an independent filmmaker based in Taiwan. His works have been featured at several international film events. His film "Taivalu" won the Grand Prize and the Best Documentary at the Taipei International Film Festival 2011. "The Great Buddha" is Huang's first narrative film.
