Arthur Lipsett (1936-1986) was an enigmatic Canadian avant-garde filmmaker who created short collage films. He collected pieces of sound and images and combined them into groundbreaking montages that inspired and influenced a number of directors, including Stanley Kubrick and George Lucas.
