SHORT SHORTS FILM FESTIVAL & ASIA 2015

Vol. 13 of the Creators’ Party was held at Brillia Short Shorts Theater in Yokohama’s Minato Mirai area. The guest was film director Hirokazu Koreeda, who has been highly praised by Cannes Film Festival critics among others, and whose works include “Nobody Knows,” “Still Walking” and “Like Father, Like Son.” Addressing themes such as “‘shapes’ without shape” and how natural “things” can be created, director Koreeda spoke at the event on subjects including naturalness in acting form and preoccupation with sound, voice and lighting. He also shared his thoughts about what elements he feels are “necessary” for films now, and other important areas.
