Swedish Event hosts - the lovely Lilico & Tetsuya Bessho
To cap off the 1st day festivities the Swedish Event had a great turnout and was a huge success. Our MC for the opening event,Lilico who's Japanese/Swedish led the show with our very own Tetsuya Bessho as her willing and able talk partner. After a brief introduction by Lilico, the event started off with the classic music video of Abba's "Money, Money, Money" which was directed by the award-winning filmmaker Lasse Halstrom. It was very cool to see it on a big screen now. After screening 2 more shorts from Sweden, Lilico & Tetsuya then had a talk session covering everything from Swedish pop music to films and Swedish culture. The second half began with 2 shorts. The 2nd short screened titled "Good Advice" was directed by Andreas Tibblin who had just arrived in Japan today! It's a wonderful short about families, in particular parents & their children. The film was very well-received and Andreas took to the stage amidst great applause and entertained us with some interesting points about making the film. Lilico & Tetsuya's talk managed to both enlighten & entertain and the crowd seemed very happy & pleased as the event drew to a close. A great start to the festival! Well done guys! I'll be back tomorrow as the festival kicks in & I begin my MC duties with the 1st program of the day here, International program A!
