For the International Program B we had director Jeff Sousa with his short "The Hirosaki Players." it's an extremely well made and actually rare short set in a theater. He brought up his producer Teru Takayama for the Q&A after the screening. Jeff had spent time in Aomori Pref. so he was able to answer Q's in Japanese. That's the way it goes sometimes at our festival, I'll translate the question in Japanese to English and then Jeff would reply in Japanese which I would then translate into English for our foreign guests and audience. I know, I'm already confused just writing this!
The director of the excellent "Steam," Eldar Rapaport was surprised when asked some very heavy & to-the-point Q's about his short. Yes, we do have some very intense & serious short film fans!
