SHORT SHORTS FILM FESTIVAL & ASIA 2015

For the last program of the day, “Music Short A”, total of 7 directors and casts greeted the audience.

Director NINOMIYA “NINO” DAISUKE and Dancer OBA from “The Place for Freedom”,
Singer Maho Fukami from “Weapons”,
Director Eiki Yasuda from “Schoolgirl of Rouge” and
Director Hidenobu Abura, Actress Miyu Yagyu and Sae Niwa from “Don’t Give Us Bouquet!”

First, Director NINOMIYA shared the story that he had a “spiritual” happening in filming.  That occurred when the dancer OBA, playing a samurai, swung his sword down. All the electricity of the building went out! He said that he felt the power of the dancer, and he gave a huge impact on his short.

Maho Fukami made the music imagining Japanese cherry blossoms, was surprised how the short with that music came out to be a thriller. It was surprising for her, but at the same time she felt happy, it gave her some new inspirations in making music.

Director Yasuda shared the reason why he decided to make this short; “There is a typical scene in Japanese Manga, that people have nose bleeding when someone gets excited. I wanted to describe that scene in the short”.

Miyu Yagyu and Sae Niwa shared the story that they always had a group hug before filming, and how Director Abera was keeping everyone in good mood throughout the filming.

And all guests answered to the question from the audience, “Who is the director that you respect the most?”

Their stories were all unforgettable, made me sure that this program is going to be more significant to the festival and creators; bringing directors, actors, musicians, dancers all together, strongly.
