The 3rd day at SHIDAX Culture Hall in Shibuya has started!
We introduced 4 programs; Academy Awards Program, War and the Power to Live Program supported by Red Cross, Music Shorts Competition, and Kaohsiung Film Festival Program from Taiwan.
In Academy Awards Program, we screened winner and nominee shorts of Academy Awards, including “The Phone Call”, 2015 Academy Awards Winner for Best Short Film (Live Action).
“The Dam Keeper” which was screened at the last, was an animation short that I thought I would like children to watch, not only adults.
We thought it is important to introduce In War and the Power to Live Program supported by Red Cross, since this year makes the 70th anniversary of the end of the WWⅡ.
One of the shorts we screened, “That Wasn’t Me” is the 2014 Academy Awards Nominee for Best Short (Live Action).
I hope this program gave an opportunity to the audience to think about war, and what peace really means.
In 3rd program, Music Shorts Competition, total of 9 directors and casts greeted the audience. As we say “music means so much to shorts”, this program really deepens the significance of it. And I think that’s one of the reasons why so many directors and casts come to greet the audience in every screening.
And in the last program of the day, Kaohsiung Film Festival Program from Taiwan”, we had a guest from oversea. The director of “The Great Buddha”, Huang Hsin Yao. For more details, we will be posting a report so please check it out.
We will be screening again in Shidax Culture Hall from 11th to 14th, mainly from Competitions.
We will be asking for votes from the audience, so please come and check out the competition shorts!
See you again next week
