It’s our 5th year to screen the shorts from Kaohsiung Film Festival.
This year, Catherine Wang, an international competition coordinator of the festival, and Director Huang Hsin Yao of “The Great Buddha” greeted the audience.
Kaohsiung Film Festival, which is held in the second biggest city in Taiwan, is having 15th anniversary this year. “We screened shorts that are serious this time, but shorts focused on human rights and ecologies are getting attentions recently in Taiwan”, said Catherine.
Director Yao also has mentioned what is getting more attention in Taiwan. “We have reporters that put GPS and cameras in the cars of who they want to cover, and we have some films that focus on that theme.”
Even after the screenings, we had many people wanting to talk to them in the lobby.
One thing I would like to mention is, Kaohsiung Film Festival is being held in October this year!
