It’s 4th day of SSFF 2015! Not a bad weather to hang around. We have large audience even though it’s Monday. But still we have some more seats. Take the chance to come and watch movie in easy mood.
There were 5 screenings; Special Program from Cannes, War and the Power to Live Program, French Film Festival – Short Film Selection, Southeast Asia Program, and CG Animation-A Program.
“War and the Power to Live Program” was set up along with the 70th anniversary of the end of war. There were screenings of the films which background were such as in Sarajevo, Africa, and Vietnam where they used to have war or conflict. Those films let us think about the preciousness of life and recognize that it’s a miracle to live in this moment.
In “Southeast Asia Program” we had screening of the films from 6 countries including those that we hardly see their movies in Japan, such as Cambodia, Indonesia, Laos, Singapore, Timor-Lest, Philippines. My favorite was The Cock Fight which is a documentary film representing about the nationally popular amusement gamble “cock fight” in Timor-Lest. Although it is prohibited to women, woman director, Bety Reis, gets into the cock fight ring and shows us its curious culture and society.
“War and the Power to Live Program” will be on the screen again at iTSCOM Studio on Friday 12th, and “Southeast Asia Program” will be on the screen again at Brillia ShortShorts Theater on Wednesday 10th.
We also have good food and drinks at our shop. Come and relax with movie and nice refreshments.
