History of SSFF & ASIA
～簡史回顧20年影展之路～
影展放映了美國高品質的短片電影，包括美國奧斯卡金像獎及日舞影展獲獎作品，還有首次在國外放映的喬治‧盧卡斯(George Lucas)導演早期執導作品，之後歷屆影展均獲得喬治‧盧卡斯的支持。

影展在東京舉辦之後，在札幌、名古屋、大阪、沖繩開展全國巡回放映。
影展正式更名為Shortshorts Film Festival(SSFF)，發展成為介紹全世界電影作品的國際電影節。
首次登陸電影之都美國洛杉磯，在好萊塢埃及劇院舉辦電影節。
成為美國奧斯卡金像獎官方認可的電影節。電影節首獎獲獎作品，獲得下一年度奧斯卡金像獎短片競賽單元提名作品候補資格。
與東京都合作，創辦聚焦亞洲和日本作品的電影節，之後兩個電影節以“Shortshorts Film Festival & Asia (SSFF & ASIA) ”之名聯合舉辦。
愛知世博會，在愛・地球博這個母題之下，以“自然的睿智”為題，舉辦“Shortshorts Film Festival EXPO 2005”。

Shortshorts Film Festival創辦10周年，Shortshorts Film Festival Aisa創辦5周年。
在橫濱港未來21（Yokohama Minato Mirai 21）開設了專門放映短片的電影院Brillia Short Shorts Theater。
與環境省合作開設“STOP！地球溫暖化單元”，之後更名為“拯救地球單元”。
增設音樂短片單元，與觀光廳合作開設旅行短片項目。
東日本大地震發生後，在“以影像之力讓日本微笑”的主題下，舉辦慈善短片制作和慈善拍賣等活動。
開始與韓亞國際短片電影節（韓國）、臺灣高雄電影節（臺灣）等國外短片電影節合作，SSFF & ASIA選集開始在世界各地的短片電影節上放映。
將首屆影展開幕日期6月4日定位“短片電影日”。
Shortshorts Film Festival創辦15周年，Shortshorts Film Festival Aisa創辦10周年。

通過當地的影像來介紹日本各地魅力的網站“TABIMOJA”正式上線。
2012年度首獎獲得者平柳敦子執導的短片《Oh Lucy!》在坎城影展、日舞影展廣獲關註。
征集短篇小說，並將其制作成短片電影的“Book Short”項目啟動。
以推廣企業或團體的品牌為目的的品牌電影特輯項目“Branded Shorts”啟動。
2016年首獎獲獎作品《校園合唱團的秘密（Sing）》（導演：迪亞克·克裏斯托弗）獲奧斯卡金像獎最佳實境短片。
與EXILE隊長HIRO引領的藝能事務所LDH合作，啟動短片制作項目“CINEMA FIGHTERS”。
Brillia Short Shorts Theater閉館。10年歷史，落下帷幕。

My experience with my initial short film set the tone for a filmmaking career full of tales of fantasy and adventure that continues to this day.
A short film is a challenge of precision and poetry. For the young filmmaker, it is also a wonderful platform to showcase their talents.
I'm a big fan of short subject films and believe that as an art form they are as relevant now as ever before.
Short films are a great opportunities to express creativity while learning the craft of filmmaking.
The two shorts with which I started my film career were very important in finding my own cinematic “Handwriting”
Film Festival is the place that we can feel like we want to come back again. We can share with our buddies (young filmmakers) who making films in the world, and we get energy for making films, then go back to each place.
If you make short films, you can begin to see things, more clearly, that you can turn into a 2 hour feature film.
If you want to be moved by films, short is better. I long for this to be the ultimate goal.
In short films, there is an atmosphere that is not present in anything else. It is a world where an artist's distilled essence can be appreciated.
Movies are an enduring form of journalism. Movies make philosophy.
